German Math is the one olympiad that costs nothing to enter. Every online round is free, and so are the certificates and the medals that follow. It is mathematics only, in English only, for grades 3 to 11.
How it runs
Several preliminary rounds spread across the year, each in a 24-hour window and each preceded by a free trial exam a few days earlier, so you can test your setup without pressure. Wrong answers cost points, so guessing is not free. The best go on to a short online Final with open questions, and from there to the Grand Final, held in person.
Who can take part
Students in grades 3 to 11, in five grade bands. There is no age limit, and a school may enter as many students as it likes.
What you need
A computer with a camera, or the Olympiads app. The preliminary rounds need one camera; the Final needs two — your phone can be the second one. Our exam-day guide walks through the setup.
